The start of the New Year always brings a rush of emails, newsletters and blog posts ticking off the best (or worst) of 2011. You can find lists of the Top 10 movies, news events, science stories and diabetes stories.
Sure, these are fun to review, but what is more relevant is your personal Top 10 list for the year.
After speaking to hundreds of you in 2011, I know many of you got married, welcomed your first child or grandchild, or completed your first 5 K. Many of you told me that you started a new job, retired, or began to volunteer for the first time. Some of you ventured into the realm of social media, like Facebook or Twitter. The real go-getters even obtained their CDE or an advanced degree! All of the above are more than worthy of “Top 10” status.
I have not compiled a Top 10 list this year, but if I did, getting Millie the Shih Tzu would be on it.
I have started thinking of a resolution or two for 2012. First and foremost is to do more reading for pleasure. The book resting atop the pile at my bedside table is God is an Englishman, a Christmas gift from my mom. Have you begun to consider possible resolutions yet?
As I reflect on 2011, and look forward to what 2012 may bring personally and professionally, I want to thank the faithful readers of this blog, and welcome those of you who may be reading it for the first time. We at Healthy Interactions thank you for your support of the Conversation Map tools, and your dedication to patient-centered education.
Keep checking in for updates on resources, webinars and education tools in the year to come.
I wish you much health and happiness for 2012!
Cathy
